1164. Alexander Jenkins Meader (1824 – 1891?)

Alexander Jenkins Meader, son of Thomas Meader (1782-1829) [0090] and Deborah Burnell (1783-1871), was born on Nantucket in 1824 and died in San Francisco, probably in 1891. In September, 1849 he sailed from Nantucket on the Ship Henry Astor for California. There, about 1860, he married an Anne, born in Ireland about 1835 and died in San Francisco April 26, 1907. He was registered as a voter in 1866, occupation stevedore, and was so listed until 1890. According to Barney Records, there was a daughter Frances, who died young.
